The test group measured the acceleration parameters of Honda PCX 2018 quite impressive. We chose a completely isolated road, without traffic, tried to speed up 10 times in a row and divided the average. When a person traveling a car: accelerate 0-40 km / h in 3.3 seconds; 0-60 km / h in 6.0 seconds; 40-60 km / h in 3.1 seconds. When the vehicle carries two people: 0-40 km / h in 3.7 seconds; 0-60 in 6.4 seconds; 40-60 km / h in 3.2 seconds. As can be seen, whether one or two people go, the acceleration of PCX 2018 is still very good. No matter the situation, regardless of the speed of the accelerator, the PCX 2018 does not seem to be out of breath. The gearbox also responded very quickly, always meeting my acceleration needs in an instant.
Honda CB500F, CBR500R and CB500X 2018 are available with ABS option, priced from VND 174 million
When cornering at a relatively high speed, the car maintains a good balance and makes the driver lean back confidently in the corner. The suspension’s ability to suppress vibrations from the road surface is also very good, I did not feel tired despite constantly deliberately going into potholes or speed humps. However, the lack of ABS always makes me not really confident whenever I need to brake quickly. Of course, because I always obey traffic laws and control all situations on the road, I rarely had to make the most of the standard braking performance. With ABS or not, the driver’s skills are still the most important.
LED lighting system for relatively good performance. In both core / phase modes, the light remains wide and the light beam is strong. However, the LCD watch face is a bit dark. I experience the car on a cloudy day, the low brightness of the clock face is not too affected, but if driving in the hot sun is another story.
In addition to performance, the ability to carry items is also a significant advantage of PCX 2018. The overalls storage compartment has plenty of space to hold both wallets and phones at the same time. The bottom seat has a capacity of 28 liters, an increase of 1 liter compared to the previous generation. Of course, the “holy” Honda Lead is still champion of the width and depth of the trunk but the PCX can still hold quite a bit of your personal belongings. I even tried and fit my 15.6-inch laptop into the trunk!
Remember to buy shockproof bags!
Perhaps many of you will wonder about the “eating” of PCX 2018 with a 150 cc engine. Ending the journey with this bulky friend, I reached a consumption of 2.24 liters of gasoline per 100 km. To be honest, this is an impressive consumption level because I actively ran in a “careless” way to push the PCX 2018 to the limit of performance. In addition, this PCX has not been changed for the first time and the ODO clock has not reached the 1,000 km mark yet. If using the car as a normal person, consumption of less than 2l / 100 km is workable.
Overall, despite a lot of upgrades, the Honda PCX 2018 is still a picky product. Certainly, there will be Vietnamese customers who are satisfied with Air Blade 125 or trying to “upgrade” SH instead of choosing PCX. However, for those who truly understand the value that the PCX series brings, especially those who often travel far by motorbike, Honda PCX 2018 is simply the first choice.
