[ĐÁNH GIÁ NHANH] Volvo XC90 Excellence – Nearly perfect!

The dashboard and door panels are relatively soft leather, including the top of the dashboard is also soft leather (Inscription is soft plastic) while the steering wheel and seats are covered with high quality Nappa leather. The roof is also covered with high-grade Nubuck fiber that feels like suede instead of felt as on XC90 Inscription. However, the quality of leather seats is still not different from the Inscription, it would be better if Volvo upgraded the leather quality of the Excellence in the way Mercedes-Benz has Designo Exclusive or BMW with Individual Leather. If they do, the XC90 Excellence version will be truly special compared to lower-end versions. Again and again, the standard leather of the Volvo XC90 is much better than the standard leather of BMW X5 or Mercedes-Benz GLE.

However, in terms of seat design, it’s clear that Volvo XC90 Excellence has the best seats in the segment. Seats are shaped in the shape of a human backbone, providing a very comfortable sitting posture. All details such as headrest, seat back, lower back cushion, seat surface, calf support are adjustable. Heating, refrigeration and massage are fully equipped for XC90 Excellence. This version is only equipped with 4 separate seats, and the rear seat is the most special thing in the car.

Because the XC90 Excellence only has 2 rows of seats, the space for the rear passengers is much more spacious. The rear seat footrest has been increased by 50 mm, the panoramic sunroof is also made larger and extends backwards to provide more open space for the back seat. The two rear seats for the rear boss are more spacious, more comfortable than the front seats with a special headrest with laser engraving “Excellence by Sweden”, extremely thick and soft hip pads and cushions. Extremely smooth thighs.

The back seat and seat surface are punched with a special pattern, which Volvo calls a Romb pattern. Of course, the features massage, drying, heating are equipped for 2 rear seats. And yet, two footplates are placed under the floor. Even small details such as the foot soles are also covered with premium leather and felt! However, one thing I don’t like is that the space for the rear seats is not really comfortable and spacious, especially compared to the long-wheelbase Range Rover.

Separated between the 2 seats is a central platform with full toys that customers expect in a car for the passenger. We have a middle armrest, a refrigerator that can hold 2 bottles of champagne, 2 glasses and adjust the cooling level. Just above the fridge is an additional mid-range speaker that provides the best audio experience for the backseat. It is part of the Bowers & Wilkins 20 1400-speaker satellite system, tuned specifically for XC90 Excellence.

Inside the center podium also contains a 4.3 inch screen. With just a light press, the screen will pop up and help you adjust the front passenger seat to make room for the rear, drying, heating and heating / cooling the cup of water also hidden in the center pedestal. If you need to work or snack, 2 flat tables tucked away neatly in the center pedestal will help you. These two tables are made from aluminum and leather, extremely sophisticated and sure.

We also have 2 ipad racks attached to the front headrest and leather-covered seat back, but the most impressive toy of the rear compartment is 2 crystal glasses crafted by Orefors. These two glasses are located neatly in 2 brackets also made of crystal. If you notice, you will see that these 2 glasses have no stand! This is very strange, because all models of Bentley, Mercedes-Benz or Range Rover use flat cups. However, this is Volvo’s intention: precisely because the glass has no base, you always have to put it in the right place – two beautiful crystal holders. Thus, the glasses will never be broken, thereby increasing the safety of the back seat. It is true that the car company always accompanies with the safety!

Volvo XC90 Excellence is powered by Volvo’s most advanced hybrid engine system. It consists of a 2.0L 4-cylinder petrol engine that owns both supercharger and supercharger system, providing a maximum capacity of 320 horsepower, maximum torque of 400 Nm for the two front wheels. Gasoline engine combined with an electric motor provides power to the rear for a total capacity of more than 400 horsepower and 640 Nm. This abundant energy source makes Volvo’s more than 2-tonne luxury SUV accelerate to 100 km / h in just 5.6 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210 km / h.

And yet, Volvo XC90 Excellence also has the ability to regenerate brake energy into electricity for electric motors. The electric motor itself can operate independently, turning the XC90 Excellence into a zero-emission vehicle. This is the first genuine model in Vietnam to have this ability. When operating independently, the electric motor can run about 70 km as estimated by Volvo Vietnam. The battery system of XC90 Excellence is located in the center of the car floor. This layout makes them maximum protected if there is a collision and also reduces the car’s center of gravity, making the car work better. You can plug in the car with a standard outlet like a phone, which takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery with the dedicated charger included with the vehicle.

As can be seen, Volvo XC90 Excellence is an interesting choice in the luxury SUV segment. It is not too expensive as the cars familiar to the upper class of Vietnam, nor too “mediocre” as cars of 3 billion range. Volvo Vietnam representative said XC90 Excellence is just the beginning, they will consider distributing more electric or hybrid cars in Vietnam if the demand is high enough. Indeed, Volvo is leading the way in popularizing electric vehicles in Vietnam.
