Cyotek WebCopy: Download any web page on your hard drive

Cyotek WebCopy is a free tool to completely copy or place any web site locally on your hard drive so you can have full access to it without having to be constantly connected to the internet. The application, though simple, includes enough individual settings to satisfy even the most demanding user. Links to resources such as stylesheets, images, and other pages on the site will be re-mapped to match the local route. Using Extended Configuration you can specify which parts of the site will be copied and how.

WebCopy will look at the HTML margin of a site and try to discover all the linked resources, like other pages, images, videos, file downloads – anything and everything. It will download all of these resources and continue to search for more. In this way, WebCopy can “crawl” an entire site and download everything it sees in an attempt to create a logical “photocopy” of the source site.

However, if a site uses heavy JavaScript to operate, it is unlikely that WebCopy will be able to make an exact copy if it is unable to discover the entire site due to its use of JavaScript for dynamic link building. WebCopy does not download the raw source code of a web page, but it can download whatever the HTTP server returns. While it will make every effort to create an offline copy some sites may not work as expected as soon as they are copied.
