Recently, Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier had a rematch at UFC 257, taking place in Abu Dhabi on January 23, with a knockout win in Poirier’s 2 minutes 32 of the second half.
Up to now, Conor and Poirier each have a win, a loss when facing each other. At the post-match press conference at UFC 257, UFC president Dana White suggested that it is likely that both will face a third time in a three-half match.
“I think Conor did a great job in the first half and so did Poirier. Poirier did what needed to be done in the first half, ”commented Dana White.

“We’ll look at what McGregor wants,” he said.
With a TKO victory at UFC 257, Dustin Poirier became the first to defeat former two-class weight champion Conor McGregor by knock-out. Commenting on that, Poirier said:
“I think this loss will only make Conor even more ambitious. On his way of growth, Conor McGregor has always been a man with a lot of ambition.”
For his part, McGregor shared that not taking part in a match since his win over Donald Cerrone more than a year ago had a big impact on his form:
“It’s hard to fully recover from being in the ring for a long time. Dustin Poirier is still an excellent fighter after all. I will practice more before I return and prove myself above. ring.”
