The body of MP Davydenko, 47, was discovered by a sanitation worker in the office and an initial investigation revealed he committed suicide.
Police on 23 May said Mr. Davydenko’s body was found in the office toilet, with a gunshot wound on his head and a pistol next to it. Initial investigations revealed that the MP had committed suicide, according to Zoryan Shkiryak, a Ukrainian Interior Ministry official.
Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko said officials were investigating the cause of Davydenko’s death. There is currently no more details about the incident.
Davydenko, a former Ukrainian deputy agriculture minister, ran for parliament last year as an independent and working on the economic development committee. In the previous parliament, he was a member of the party of former President Petro Poroshenko.
Before joining politics, Davydenko led an Agrodim agriculture company for 9 years.
According to former Senator Ihor Mosiychuk, Mr. Davydenko is being charged in connection with a number of corrupt transactions and criminal cases.
