Violent clashes between Israeli troops and Palestinians have spread to most parts of the West Bank.

According to the BBC and Reuters, at least 11 Palestinians are reported dead as a result of unrest in the West Bank and hundreds more injured.
Early this morning (May 15), Israeli aircraft continued air strikes on Gaza and Hamas responded by launching rockets at Israel. The conflict between the two sides lasted five nights while American and Arab diplomats sought to end the violence.
At least four people were killed in an Israeli air strike north of Gaza, Palestinian health workers say. Gaza residents said that Israeli naval ships from the Mediterranean had repeatedly shelled the area, but none of them hit.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict erupted earlier this week, following tensions between the two sides in East Jerusalem. Conflict has reached a climax with clashes breaking out in an area considered sacred by both Muslims and Jews.
Hamas, the Islamist group that controls Gaza, began firing rockets after warning Israel to withdraw from the area and prompting Israel to launch air strikes in response. At least 126 people in Gaza have been killed and eight in Israel since the fighting broke out.
More than 2,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza into the country since the outbreak of the conflict, the Israeli military said. Half of the rockets were intercepted by the missile defense system and 350 landed in the Gaza Strip.
