Child Pornography One Ontarian Had Over 1 Million Files

An Ottawa citizen was recently convicted of several offenses in one of the largest pornographic seizures ever made by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Tristen Alexandre Perrier, 68, appeared in Ontario Provincial Court on June 10. He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison, minus 11 days of preventive detention

He pleaded guilty to all three counts of producing, possessing and distributing child pornography.

His computer contained more than a million child pornography files, the RCMP said.

The charges stem from a joint international investigation targeting a transnational group of child sex offenders, including Mr. Perrier.

Although Mr. Perrier has pleaded guilty to crimes committed in Canada, the RCMP have no information to suggest that the man committed sexual offenses against Canadian children. Some of the activities with which he is accused took place while he was traveling abroad and for many years plagued the invisible web.

In 2020, Canadian Internet child exploitation groups identified 277 Canadian victims.
