Hanes Hoodie

It isn’t always that the most fashionable items are the most comfortable. But, with streetwear dominating the fashion landscape, cozy classics like hoodies are everywhere. If the last time you wore a hoodie was your college days, it’s worth considering stocking up on this old school staple. You could shell out hundreds for a hoodie with a logo, or you can spend the cost of lunch and get a classic hoodie from one of the brands that made them back when they were strictly athletic wear.

Hoodies are easy to build outfits around, too. Just pop them over whatever you’re wearing and you’re ready to go. Layer them under a coat when it’s cold for a sophisticated yet street look. Or, just wear one on the couch while binging Netflix. You might need to set a reminder on your phone to wash your hoodie every once in a while, though, because you’re never going to want to take it off.

1. Hanes Men’s Pullover Hooded Sweatshirt

Hanes has been known for making comfortable casual wear and underwear since 1901. Their hoodie is made from a 50/50 cotton/poly blend, and it comes in a bunch of colors. Hanes uses recycled plastic to make some of the polyester used in the hoodie.

Pros: Uses some recycled plastic for polyester. Available in over 20 colors.

Cons: Some reviewers found that it was a little short in the waist.

2. Russell Athletic Men’s Dri-Power Pullover Fleece Hoodie

Russel Athletic literally invented sweatshirts, so they know how to make a pretty fine hooded one too. It features the classic V-shaped neck stitching that many hoodless sweatshirts have. The 9 oz 50/50 cotton/poly blend is designed to be moisture-wicking; you’ll be warm, but not sweaty.

Pros: Moisture-wicking “Dri-Power” reduces sweatiness. Good fit for multiple body shapes and sizes.

Cons: Some found that it pills easily.

3. Gildan Men’s Heavy Blend Fleece Hooded Sweatshirt

Gildan is a reliable source for very affordable basics. Like the other options, this hoodie is a 50/50 blend. It’s pre-shrunk and designed to resist pilling, so it’ll stay comfortable for many washes.

Pros: Air-jet yarn is designed to be resistant to pilling and shrinkage.

Cons: Some found that the hoodie was thinner than they expected.
