The owner of two pharmacies affiliated with the Jean Coutu banner appeared Monday morning at the Quebec City courthouse to be accused of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to information obtained by the Journal of Quebec, the facts alleged against the pharmacist Jacques Raymond, owner of two branches in Beauport, would have occurred in one of the businesses in April 1991, with regard to an alleged victim aged 16.
On April 23, the 76-year-old man was arrested following the issuance of a warrant and was released on a promise to appear.
On Monday, he was represented by lawyer Me Myriam Tabet and his case was postponed to July 30 in agreement with the prosecutor, Me Louis-Philippe Desjardins.
Until then, he was prohibited from contacting the complainant or from being at her address.
