Kevin Lamothe, 31, received a lenient sentence on Wednesday at the Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce courthouse, despite a 2015 criminal record of indecent actions. For this type of crime, the offender could face a maximum sentence of two years in prison.

“It’s a suggestion [commune] which in my opinion focuses a lot on the rehabilitation of Mr. [Lamothe] […] which seems to be on the right track, ”explained the Crown prosecutor responsible for the case, Me Marie-Andrée Veilleux.

According to the words of Me Veilleux, citing the presentence report, “the delinquent presents a high risk of recidivism, he feels animosity towards women and he takes no responsibility” with regard to the acts for which he is condemned.

Recall that in August and September 2019, Lamothe had exhibited twice in public places, in Saint-Georges, emerging from the bushes completely naked in front of teenage girls. He also used the same stratagem in May 2020, having ambushed around a path leading to the Chaudière River beach. He then frightened two teenage girls who had run away.

In addition, the offender had scared the hotel receptionist at an area golf club in December 2019, calling her repeatedly from the hotel parking lot to find out if he could “leave his clothes in.” the hotel and go and roll naked in the snow ”.

As part of his probation, Lamothe will have to undergo therapy for nearly two years. He will also have to pay a sum of $ 1,000 to a community organization in the region.
