Right from launch, products iPhone XR has been criticized by many people for its worse design than its predecessors, and it has been "downgraded" to using LCD instead of OLED. But in fact, users are very fond of this smartphone, not only in the US but also around the world.
According to IHS Market, the first quarter of Apple shipped 13.6 million iPhone XR, then added 13.3 in the second quarter, making it the best-selling smartphone during this period. With 26.9 million units, iPhone XR outstripping smartphone in second place is Samsung Galaxy A10 with 13.4 million units.
The Galaxy A50 took third place with 12 million units, while the iPhone 8 was in fourth place with 10.3 million units. The high-end iPhone XS product also reached the top 10 (but only in 9th place) with 9.6 million units.
A strange point is that the 'hot' Galaxy S10 products launched in March this year do not appear in this ranking. IHS thinks this happens because Samsung launches many products at different price points than Apple.
"Compared to the Android market, Apple has fewer product lines to market." – Jusy Hong, director of analysis and research of IHS shared. "This means that Apple's market share will have to be split into fewer product lines, each of which will have a larger sales volume than Android smartphones, including those from Samsung."
IHS figures also reaffirm the fact that low- and mid-range smartphones are outselling the high-end line (from $ 1,000 or more). The iPhone XS Max is the only high-end product to make it into the top 10, where other products are priced lower. There are rumors that Apple will adjust the price to be able to sell more products this year, but surely the most advanced iPhones will not be greatly reduced.
