Apple pledges to provide free fixes to users who experience non-charging errors on the Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE after receiving the latest fix update.
Apple just released the new watchOS 7.3.1 update which helps to fix the Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE unable to charge. This is a quite serious charging problem that has been mentioned by users in the past.
In addition, Apple has released a support document and said the issue will still affect “a very small number of users” even if they have updated to watchOS 7.3.1. Accordingly, the Apple Watch of these users will not be able to charge after turning on Power Reserve mode.
To check if your Apple Watch is affected, users need to put the watch in the charger and wait at least 30 minutes.
If your device still can’t charge after 30 minutes, you can contact Apple support and send your device to Apple for free repair. Of course Apple will need to check the watch before the warranty to verify the watch qualifies for free repairs.
This is the second free fix Apple offers this month. Last week, 2016-2017 MacBook Pro owners received good news when Apple offered free battery replacement support if their MacBook Pro was unable to charge more than 1% of the battery. A macOS update has also been released to prevent the problem from occurring in the future.
