Addiction to smartphones has become a global evil and in the world, there are many different ways to encourage people to quit their smartphones and spend more time together. One of them must mention a pretty unique pizza shop in the US.
Curry Pizza Company, a pizza shop in Fresno, California, recently launched an interesting policy called "Talk to Each Other Discount", temporarily understanding "Talk to people for a discount. ". This policy requires customers to lock their smartphones when entering the restaurant and actively talk to each other more during meals.
Discounts only apply to groups of 4 or more and all carry smartphones. They also have to agree to the store staff lock it. If they are eligible for the offer, they will receive a large pizza for free on their next visit.
New policy notice on Facebook, shop Curry Pizza Company writes: "Our goal is to help all families and friends stop using the phone while eating and talking more. If you like, you can get a large pizza for the group on your visit. Next, or you can donate that cake to those in need, we give pizza to the homeless in downtown Fresno every month ".
Co-owner of the store, Mr. Varinder Malhi shared with FOX News that his inspiration for the policy came from his own use of smartphones. In order to set an example for him, he decided to use smartphones only at home in an emergency and after using them for certain purposes. That's why Malhi wants to encourage others to do so.
To prevent fraudulent groups of people from receiving pizza for free, store employees will check all smartphones and make sure they have the same service as a normal smartphone.
After announcing the policy about 3 weeks, the shop donated 4 to 50 large pizzas to diners.
