Introduce

In Vietnam, Hyundai Elantra is a C-class sedan and competes directly with competitors such as Toyota Corolla Altis, Mazda 3, Kia Cerato or Honda Civic. In terms of sales, the Mazda 3 is the best-selling model in the segment, followed by the Kia Cerato and the Hyundai Elantra in Vietnam alone. Hyundai Elantra is the car line launched for the first time in 1990 and assembled in Vietnam since 2016. Entering the 7th generation, Hyundai Elantra 2021 brings the new Parametric Dynamics design language with a comprehensive change from the inside. / exterior to engine.

Exterior

If you just look at it, many people will mistakenly think the Hyundai Elantra 2021 is a completely new line of Korean car manufacturers. The new model was completely changed to the front and rear design, according to a new design language called “Parametric Dynamics”.

With a new design language, the Hyundai Elantra 2021 has a quite prominent grille with a layered diamond design, providing a feeling of pit and sport. Seamless with this detail is the headlight cluster with a more personalized triangle design. This headlight cluster has a structure of 3 led balls inside instead of the 4-cluster type like the previous generation.

Overall dimensions of length x width x height are 4,675 x 1,825 x 1430 (mm) respectively. Accordingly, the parameters of length and width increased by 55 (mm) and 25 (mm) while the height decreased by 20 (mm). Most notably, the wheelbase of the Elantra 2021 reaches 2,720 (mm), an increase of 20 (mm) and is larger than either the Corolla Altis or the Civic (only less than the Mazda3) that promises to bring more spacious interior space.

Body design Hyundai Elantra 2021 brings a quite unique design when with floating veins and sound in the car door create a beautiful diamond style. The roof of the rear car is swiped down in the style of the coupe models.

The tail of the Hyundai Elantra 2021 is changed quite a lot compared to the previous version. The most prominent is the LED taillights with lightning motifs quite personality and outstanding. The biggest change is the LED strip of brake lights running across the rear hatch connecting the two taillights. The number plate area is also moved low under the rear bumper and is in the shape of a diamond.

Wheels all 2021 Hyundai Elantra versions are in alloy size 15, 16 and 17 inches respectively. However, the Elantra hybrid version will only get 16-inch wheels.

furniture

Not only changes in the exterior design, the interior space of the Hyundai Elantra 2021 really changes boldly. In general, the interior of the Elantra 2021 focuses on the driver clearly when it comes to the driver-tilting screen and a “baffle” with side passengers.

Sporty seats with seat design with seat backs hugging the operator along with beautiful design. The steering wheel cluster is also completely transformed with two “C” details connecting the control button cluster. Full amenities such as steering wheel heating, seat back ventilation, automatic air conditioning, tire pressure sensor etc.

One of the other beautiful points is the center screen cluster designed seamlessly with the instrument cluster. This design is somewhat similar to luxury Mercedes-Benz models. This screen measures 8 inches and supports Apple CarPlay / Android Auto.

Details of this central dashboard display beautifully, but the bezel is quite square at the feeling of a rigid hardware. Another detail that makes the Elantra 2021 is the interior lighting system and can be customized to 64 different colors.

The Elantra 2021’s boom cluster looks beautiful with square grips for a delightful swinging feel. Next to the control buttons are electronic handbrake or activate the function automatically hold / release the hand brake (Auto hold).

The second row of Elantra 2021 seats, all versions, can be folded flat in a 60:40 ratio to help expand luggage space when needed. Between the two rear seats also integrated an armrest with a cup holder quite handy. The passenger’s legroom reaches 97 cm at a good level, the center seat is also fully equipped with headrests.

Engine – Safety

The Hyundai Elantra 2021 uses a naturally aspirated 1.6L I4 engine that produces 121 hp at 6,300 rpm and a maximum torque of 154 Nm at 4,500 rpm. This engine only comes with front-wheel drive and a CVT gearbox that is named IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission) by Hyundai.

In terms of safety equipment, Hyundai Elantra 2021 is applied with the latest technologies such as:

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
The intelligent automatic station follows the vehicle ahead with the stop / start function (SSC)
Active front anti-collision brake (FCA)
Warning driver dozing off
Warning of vehicles crossing behind

If the latest safety features of the Hyundai Elantra 2021 are still brought to Vietnam, this will be the second model in the C-class sedan segment (after the Mazda3) equipped with this technology package.

General assessment

With a breakthrough change in exterior and interior, the Hyundai Elantra 2021 will be perfect to compete with the Mazda3 just launched this year as well as “country” Kia Cerato. In addition, the premium safety technology package will help the Hyundai Elantra 2021 compete “fairly” with the Mazda3 while the C-segment models such as Kia Cerato, Corolla Altis or Honda Civic are not equipped.
