After rain the good weather?
BCF Business Law firm, one of the largest in Quebec, has recruited no less than six of its interns: Sara Couture, Alex Thivierge Côté, Jean-Christophe Imbeau, Kristina-Soleil Pellerin-Stonier, Sophie Boulanger and Émile Côté-Soucy.
The faces of these new lawyers are familiar to the firm, as they all got a job offer immediately after completing their articling.
Here are biographical details on each of them.
Sara Couture is an alumnus of the University of Montreal. The 2020 Bar completed its bachelor’s and master’s degrees in law there. She practices in the field of business law and focuses mainly on the areas of commercial and corporate law.
Alongside her life as a lawyer, she founded Tokusen, a company that specializes in importing artisanal food products from Japan.
Since last May, she has been sitting on the board of directors of Quebec-Japan Business Forum.
She also worked for two years in Japan thanks to the program Japan Exchange and Teaching Program.
Alex Thivierge Côté
Alex Thivierge Côté made his law debut at BCF in May 2018.
She holds a law degree from the University of Sherbrooke, and worked there as a teaching assistant between May 2018 and December 2018.
She was also a dance teacher for seven years at the Louise Lapierre Dance School.
Bar 2020, Me Jean-Christophe Imbeau joined the firm in 2017 as a student. He is now part of the firm’s business law team in Montreal.
His practice covers several areas such as mergers and acquisitions, as well as variants of corporate finance. The lawyer is also interested in securities, regulatory and corporate affairs of companies.
Me Imbeau has been a member of the board of directors of the Association of Law Graduates of the University of Sherbrooke since 2019. He worked as a teaching assistant during his studies. He also sits on the executive committee of the student section of the Canadian Bar Association.
Me Pellerin-Stonier is an alumnus of the University of Montreal. She joined BCF in May 2018 as a law student. She started her internship last January.
The lawyer worked as a paralegal between January 2014 and August 2016 for the Association of dental surgeons of Quebec. She was also legal and administrative assistant at Rochefort & Associés between 2016 and 2018.
Sophie Boulanger completed her bachelor’s degree in law at Laval University in 2019.
A member of the Rouge et Or basketball team, she was artistic vice-president of the 2018 Grand Maillet at Laval University. She was also a mentor at the support center of the Faculty of Law of Laval University.
She practices mainly in business, commercial and corporate law.
Émile Côté-Soucy studied at the University of Sherbrooke for a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s in business administration.
Me Côté-Soucy practices in business law, particularly in commercial law, corporate law, financing and mergers and acquisitions.
A member of the Cégep de Thetford hockey team, he was president of the student association in addition to sitting on the board of directors of the Cégep between 2013 and 2015. He also played rugby with the team of Green and Gold.
The new lawyer joined BCF in January 2019 as a cooperative intern.
