Peugeot is a French company founded in 1810. Peugeot has been making and selling various household products, mainly steel products, since the time Napoleon ruled France more than 200 years ago. The founder’s grandson, Armand Peugeot, started the business of making and selling bicycles in 1871. He built the first three-wheeled vehicle with a steam engine in 1889 and established an automobile company in earnest in 1897. Peugeot’s SUV 3008, along with the sedan 508, is the most familiar and best-selling Peugeot model in Korea. The 3008 SUV has already sold more than 1 million units globally, and accounts for more than 40% of domestic Peugeot sales in Korea. The new Peugeot 3008 SUV launched in the domestic market this time is a partial modification of the 3008 SUV first released in 2016, and was already introduced to overseas markets last fall.

The new 3008 SUV, first met in real life, first catches the eye with its colorful and intensely changed front design. The front design, which connects the front grille and the headlamps with dense edges, gives a luxurious and masculine impression compared to the previous model. The vertically designed daytime running lights are impressive, and the 3008 emblem is located in the center of the bonnet.

Compared to the front part, which has a big change in feel, the changes in the side and rear are not big. The design of the rear lamp has a more three-dimensional effect, and when the turn signal is operated, the LED lamp lights from the inside to the outside, which looks stylish.

As soon as you enter the interior, you are greeted with a sense of stability and luxury of Alcantara seats. The new 3008 SUV to be released this time has a single GT model in the lineup for the time being, so all of them are equipped with Alcantara seats. There is no place to criticize the feeling of sitting or the touch and the luxurious appearance with stitching.

Other than that, there are no major changes to the interior. The compact size of the steering wheel may be awkward for first-timers. However, once you get used to the hands, it is very easy to operate and the view on the instrument panel is good. The instrument panel is a 12.3-inch head-up type, and the center touch screen that uses various functions uses an 8-inch screen.

As seen in the previous model, the interior is angled and gorgeous even when looking back. If the interior of the C5 Aircross, which can be said to be the same class model of Citroën in the group, is well-organized and stable, the New Peugeot 3008 is more sensual and splendid. Of course, consumer preferences will vary.

Start up and start An honest yet well-tuned ride is a moderately smooth, informative and fun setting for those who enjoy driving rather than a comfortable luxury car feel. On long rides, these settings can be far less tiring than a comfortable ride. Power is a feeling that is neither too much nor too little in daily driving. I think it’s a reasonable setting with fuel economy in mind.

When you change the driving mode to Sport, the instrument panel turns red, grabs the ground like a cat leaps and jumps out. As a 1.5L diesel engine, it is a driving capability that was not expected at all. Combined with the heavy exhaust sound and Peugeot’s unique flexible cornering, it’s a very fun driving experience.

The new Peugeot 3008 has advanced advanced driver assistance systems to level 2 autonomous driving. The 3008 SUV is a model that combines performance, economy, and fun of driving as a hobby at a relatively reasonable price. However, the high-gloss interior and the glass-finished exterior feel like a toy. This is the reason why likes and dislikes seem to be clearly divided according to age and preference.
