[Central News Agency]According to official data from AFP today, more than 3 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been vaccinated globally.

The global vaccination rate is accelerating. It took 20 weeks for the first 1 billion doses to be administered, but only 4 weeks for the last 1 billion doses.

China administered 1.2 billion doses the most, accounting for 40% of the total, India ranked second with 329 million doses, and the United States ranked third with 324 million doses.

However, three Middle Eastern countries lead the world in coverage (excluding countries with a population of less than 1 million). The United Arab Emirates ranks first with 153 doses per 100 people, followed by Bahrain and Israel with 124 doses.

Almost 60% of the residents of these three countries have been vaccinated.

After these 3 countries are Chile (118 doses per 100 people), the United Kingdom (113 doses), Mongolia (111 doses), Uruguay (110 doses), Hungary (107 doses), Qatar (107 doses) and the United States ( 98 doses).

About half of the population (46% to 54%) in these countries have been fully vaccinated.
