This can be easily confirmed not only in the interior/outdoor design and configuration, but also in a pretty stylish and cool driving feel.

Lincoln Corsair’s highway fuel economy measurements were carried out in the same way in the same section as usual.

The driving distance from Seoul to Gimcheon is about 230km. Before departure, stop by a gas station, fill up with fuel, and then drive to your destination on the highway. While driving, maintain the maximum speed limit, but repeat overtaking or acceleration/deceleration according to the flow. After arriving at the destination, we check the driving information on the trip computer, and continue to stop by the gas station to fill up the fuel in the same way as the departure point. Through this, the actual mileage and the amount of fuel used are determined, and the actual fuel economy is calculated.

It may be slightly different from the government-approved standard fuel efficiency or the fuel efficiency measured by individuals because it is measured by driving, fueling and measuring. In addition, it can be affected by various factors such as the condition of the test ride, traffic conditions on the road, and weather including outside temperature. Therefore, please refer to the results below as the level of efficiency that can be checked during long-distance cruising.

Prior to the departure of the fuel economy review, I stopped by a gas station located in Pangyo to start fueling. In order to minimize errors due to differences in gas stations and lubricators between the origin and destination, the key is to fill the fuel so that it will no longer be filled.

After refueling, we looked at the driving information on the trip computer.

The total mileage of 11,423.8km is 524km when the Coreer is filled with gasoline. After initializing the items of driving time, average fuel economy, and mileage required for fuel economy measurement, we started measuring fuel economy in earnest.

Fuel economy review Start
As always, a review of the fuel economy of Corsair on a Friday evening, departure from work hours. The driving mode was set to the most ordinary normal, and the air conditioner was set to 23.0℃ AUTO. It was possible to drive without noticeable congestion until exiting the gas station and entering the highway, and when stopping to wait for a signal, AUTO STOP & START was activated to minimize unnecessary engine operation and fuel consumption.

The maximum speed limit for expressways entering outside Pangyo city center is 110km/h until the Seoul toll gate section. With the entry of the highway, Lincoln Corsair’s adaptive cruise control was set to the maximum speed limit, and lane maintenance assistance with lane centering was also activated to make a full-fledged journey to the destination Gimcheon with the help of driver driving assistance (ADAS). Started.

Gyeongbu Expressway Section
Unlike the entrance to the expressway, which showed smooth communication, traffic was seen as a vehicle leaving Seoul on the weekend on the section of the Gyeongbu Expressway to the Singal Junction after passing through the Seoul Toll Gate. For this reason, the adaptive cruise control set for the top speed limit of 110 km/h had to go and stand at a blatantly low speed. Yeongdong Expressway section
Yeongdong Expressway exits the long congested Gyeongbu Expressway and enters at Singal Junction. It drives to Yeoju Junction, which enters the Jungbu Inland Expressway, and the maximum speed limit is 100km/h. As always, the Yeongdong Expressway showed a smooth flow without congestion, and the adaptive cruise control was set according to the maximum speed limit and continued driving in a relaxed and calm manner.

For reference, when driving 100km/h, the engine speed of Lincoln Corsair is around 1,700rpm. It showed a universal level of rotation for a vehicle equipped with a 2.0L gasoline turbo engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway section
From Yeoju Junction, the Jungbu Inland Expressway runs to Gimcheon Junction near the destination. The maximum speed limit varies depending on the section, and the Yeoju-Nakdong section has to maintain 110km/h and the section after Nakdong has to maintain 100km/h. Therefore, at the Yeoju Interchange, the adaptive cruise control was set to the maximum speed limit of 110km/h along with the entrance to the Jungbu Inland Expressway, and slowly ran the Jungbu Inland Expressway, which showed smooth flow without congestion or delay.

At 110 km/h, the engine speed of the Coreer is about 1,950 rpm. Thanks to the 8-speed automatic transmission, it was possible to drive on the highway very comfortably and comfortably by maintaining a relatively low revs, as well as NVH measures worthy of the premium brand’Lincoln’. Unlike the top-class aviators, even though it didn’t have an air suspension, the ride, which was pretty cool, was of course great.

Intermediate Inspection_Goesan Service Area
As you drive with the help of Lincoln’s driver assistance system, named CO-PILOT 360 Plus, you arrive at Goesan Service Area, an intermediate checkpoint for fuel economy reviews. At the rest stop where you arrive, you lightly relieve the fatigue accumulated from long-distance night driving, and check the intermediate results of the fuel economy review through driving information on the trip computer.

From Seoul to Goesan Service Area, the total driving distance of Lincoln Corsair is 119.6 km.

It took 1 hour and 25 minutes to drive, and the fuel gauge was found to use about half of one scale. The distance that can be driven on residual fuel is 578 km, which is an increase from the start. The most important average fuel economy was 15.0km/ℓ. For reference, the fuel efficiency of Lincoln Corsair’s government-accredited highway is 11.3km/ℓ.

Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway section
After an intermediate inspection through the trip computer, I continued driving toward the destination Gimcheon. From Goesan Rest Area to Nakdong Junction, the maximum speed limit is 110km/h. Upon joining the main line, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance were activated, and the driving continued in line again.

After passing the Nakdong Junction, we changed the setting value of Corsair’s adaptive cruise control in accordance with the maximum speed limit lowered to 100 km/h, and continued driving in accordance with the flow while the confluence section and the hill section met and increased traffic. The slightly increased traffic volume was naturally resolved at the Seonsan Service Area, and if you drive according to the maximum speed and flow limit, you will arrive at the Gimcheon Junction near your destination.

Gyeongbu Expressway Section
Gyeongbu Expressway toward Seoul from Gimcheon Junction. I drove at the maximum speed limit of 100km/h to the Gimcheon toll gate exiting the highway, and the highway driving for fuel economy measurement was completed while passing through the toll gate. Afterwards, we finished driving for fuel economy review by driving a little more in the downtown area of ​​Gimcheon to the final destination gas station.

Arrival of fuel efficiency review
When you arrive at the final destination, the fuel is filled again and the actual fuel economy is calculated from the actual mileage and the actual amount of fuel used. Of course, there was a part to check before refueling again, so it’s nothing other than driving information on the trip computer.

From Seoul to Gimcheon, Lincoln Corsair’s total mileage is 226.7km.

It took 2 hours and 37 minutes to drive, and the fuel gauge was found to use one large scale. The distance that can be driven on residual fuel is 664 km, which was increased from the time of departure as well as from the intermediate inspection. The most important average fuel economy was 15.6km/ℓ.

Of course, the decline in urban fuel economy compared to the fuel efficiency of cruising on the highway is relatively large, but considering that it is an SUV with an empty vehicle weight of 1.8 tons, a maximum output of 238 horsepower, and AWD, the urban efficiency is also acceptable.

For reference, as plug-in hybrids are about to be released in the North American market this year, I think we will be able to meet models with better efficiency and eco-friendliness in Korea as soon as possible.
