The Genesis GV80 Coupe forecast was revealed. The GV80 coupe projection, published by Aksyonov Nikita on Behance, maintains the practicality of the previous model and features a stylish rear. According to the industry, Genesis has confirmed the development of the GV80 Coupe. The GV80 coupe is expected to be released as early as the second half of this year.
Global brands such as BMW, Benz, and Audi are in the midst of launching premium coupe-type SUVs. The BMW X6, Mercedes GLE Coupe, and Audi Q8 are representative. It is a coupe-type model of the X5, GLE and Q7 respectively. Since the three models have also been released in the domestic market, competition with the GV80 Coupe is expected to be inevitable.
The GV80 Coupe is built on the GV80. The GV80 Coupe embodies the coupe style through the roofline that drops sharply from the D-pillar. As volume is emphasized on the exterior of the existing GV80, the design completion is expected to be high when released as a coupe. The A-pillar is also more angled than the GV80.
The GV80 Coupe is likely to share the powertrain with the new G80 Sport, which will be released in June. Performance is improved based on a 3.5-liter gasoline turbo engine. It is known to be close to the performance of Hyundai Motor’s 5.0 liter V8 naturally aspirated engine. The maximum output of the V8 engine is 425 hp and the maximum torque is 53 kgm.
On the other hand, Genesis has newly established an organization dedicated to quality inspection/improvement to improve the quality of all vehicles such as GV80 and G80. The main task is to investigate and improve the cause of major quality problems of mass-produced car electronic systems, quality control for mass-produced cars, and joint inspection of recurrence prevention measures. I started working in earnest from last month.
