[Real-time news/comprehensive report]The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced that it will sell 32 Japanese AIM-120C-8 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles (AMRAAM), also known as AIM-120D, with a total amount of 63 million US dollars (about new NT$1.85 billion), which will greatly strengthen Japan’s air defense capabilities.

According to a press release from the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency, the United States approved the sale of 32 Japanese AIM-120C-8 missiles, including weapon system support, material preparation, and maintenance parts, with an estimated total price of $63 million. The press release pointed out that the arms sales will provide Japan with a strong and effective self-defense capability and maintain political and economic stability in the Asia-Pacific region.

The press release stated that the arms sales case will not change the military balance in the region and will not adversely affect US defense, and Raytheon Missile and Defense will be the main contractor.
