[Central News Agency]The Yemen rebel “Youth Movement” supported by Iran launched a drone air strike against neighboring countries today, causing a civilian aircraft to catch fire in Saudi Arabia’s airport. However, the Saudi authorities did not immediately report any injuries.

The Huthis has launched a series of attacks on Saudi Arabia in the past. Despite the renewed efforts of the United States to cool down the six-year Yemen conflict, the youth movement has not stopped its actions.

Agence France-Presse reported that images released by Saudi state-run media showed that after the attack, a scorched black gap appeared on the side of a passenger plane. The new U.S. special envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, met with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Riyadh today.

Saudi Arabia’s state-run media also released images of drone wreckage. Engine parts appeared to be scattered on the airport runway.

The youth movement that controls a large area in the north of Yemen claimed that they attacked Abha Airport with four drones.

According to Reuters, after the incident, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that the US condemned the attack.

Price told reporters: “We once again call on the youth movement to immediately stop such provocative acts.”
